Not Just Jam and Jerusalem

 

 

 

Founded in 1948, Ockford WI are celebrating their 70th birthday with an exhibition of art and craft work by current members. Be prepared to be surprised by the range of activities and interests which are represented - it's not just jam and Jerusalem.

 

 


1st to 19th May 

Spring Exhibtion - Broadwater Artists

 

 

 

This talented friendly group of local artists meets at Broadwater Community Centre on Tuesday evenings. Regular exhibitors at the Museum, they always produce work. both traditional and modern, using a range of media which reveal their individual skills.

 

 


22nd May to 9th June 

Sea the Garden - Jane Ross and Anthea Clarke

 

 

 

This is the 2nd exhibition at Godalming Museum by Jane Ross and Anthea Clarke (Two Commons 2016). Jane is now living on the Isle of Skye and taking her inspiration from the sea shore. Her photographs illustrate how tide, wind, land and light interact to create unique moments in time. Anthea, meanwhile, remains in Godalming and has been working on a photographic study of her garden through the seasons with an emphasis on shape, form and the abstract.

 

 


12th June to 7th July 

Three Surrey Artists - Margaret Arnold, Grace Beckett and Linda Day

 

 

 

The three Surrey Artists are exhibiting members of the Guildford Art Society. Their exhibition will include traditional and modern watercolours, acrylics and oil paintings, both naturalistic and abstract. Come and enjoy a feast of colour and thought-provoking images.

Godalming Photographic Club - Annual Exhibition

 

 

 

In recent years, Godalming Photographic Club (GPC) has won almost every regional competition it has entered and has also been increasingly well placed in national contests. This exhibition showcases the best of members' work as prints or digital images. GPC has over 70 active members and meets most Wednesdays from September to June. Enchanted Garden - Summer holiday exhibition and activities

 

 

 

An enchanting exhibition of artworks from present day botanical artists and complimentary works from the museum archives. Find out more about Godalming gardeners, especially Gertrude Jekyll. Explore the Museum's secret garden and enjoy garden-related activities inside and out, with plenty to do for our younger visitors.

 

 


28th August to 15th September 

Studio 12 - Annual Exhibition

 

 

 

Studio 12 is a happy group of artists who have been together for 14 years. They meet weekly under the direction of an expert tutor and paint from live models and over the summer, outside, inspired by the landscape of beautiful south-west Surrey.Their exhibition reflects the diversity of the year with a wide range of media and subjects.

 

 


18th September to 13th October 

Remembering the First World War

Godalming Town Council and Godalming Museum

 

 

 

Marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, this exhibition remembers those who fought and explores the impact on the lives of residents of Godalming, Farncombe and the surrounding villages. Discover the stories which lie behind the war memorials we pass every day and the characters and events which shaped the local experience of 'The Great War'.
