This photograph shows a man and a woman seated in a garden with a girl standing behind them. This picture was one of a collection of photos, which include a wedding photograph, featuring the same family group, with the girl, now grown up, as the bride. Some had parts of a printed election manifesto (published by the Surrey Advertiser in 1922 and signed 'Henry C. Buckingham') pasted on the back in order to hold them in the frame.
These photographs are part of a collection found in the attic of 7 Rose Cottages (Culmer Lane, Wormley) and were donated by the finder along with notes on people living in the cottages in 1929 (from information gathered at the Surrey History Centre, Woking). Although it is not certain that the photographs show anyone from the local area or local backdrops, they offer a glimpse of dress styles in the earlier part of the twentieth century.
