This photograph of Bridge Street looking towards the river shows:

- The building on the left and a cottage out of sight beyond it were demolished when nos 2 to 12 High Street were built
- The brick-fronted building beyond is now no. 47 Bridge Street and has been whitened
- The timber framed building has been demolished and and no. 46 (The Terracotta Building) now stands there
- The next three buildings have been demolished and nos 41 to 45 stand in their place
- Further down the street is a timber-framed building, which still stands - nos 40 & 41 Bridge Street
- Over Nos 40 & 41 can be seen the spire of the Congregational Church, built in 1868
- On the immediate right is The Sun Inn
